"When I lose my first "big" weight loss goal - my daughter and I are going to go out and take pictures of each other - together and separate. And again every other "big" goal - where I will look different. Its a fun not food related reward - a daughter photo shoot date!" |

Dog Days of August! I took your advice and I have bagged up 4 bags of clothes that are going to Goodwill. I really don't want a way to chicken out of this commitment I made. I will say that - this month has sucked! lol My oldest has now went back to college - it was great to see her this Summer but my routine was thrown off and it added stress. My sister and her family spent a week with us and we went out to dinner a lot. Exercise wasn't as regular. I cheated by eating things I haven't for maybe 8 months - such as ice cream drumsticks (I think 4 over the course of a week!) |

To get rid of the clothes or not! I adopted a saying during my weight loss journey of "Never 200 again" and I really do plan to never be over 200 pounds again. So now I have a dilemma and want to know what you think. As I lose more weight - do I get rid of clothes like I did when I was over 200 pounds? Do I get rid of my size 16 jeans when I go to a size 14 or less. Do I keep a few of my favorites? Is that allowing me to think that this isn't a life time change and giving myself a cop-out.... I would like your advice - keep them or give them to charity? |

Food is Energy! Food is good! My sister and her daughter just headed back home from Canada and it has been a fun and very busy week. I had a learning moment from her visit to tell you. |

My parents have or an acare, and thats another reason why I moved out...no more push mowing! It is a great workout! Make sure you do it in the evening!
According to myfitnesspal.com calorie burn, I burn roughly
3000 calories every time I mow my acre of grass! It is one hell of a workout. Of course, I weigh 239 right now, so you have lost quite a bit more than me. I love to mow my yard with a push mower though...gives me a sense of accomplishment. Happy mowing!
Guess what--it's not going to get easier! The holidays are right around the corner. You just have to find a way to incorporate your good eating habits (choices AND portion sizes) into your every day life! :)
It is good that you have noticed bad habits slipping back in. This is when you knock them out for good! I have heard that we have to use good habits for twice as long as we used the bad habits for us to truly adopt the new habits. If that is true, then I guess I am in for at least 20 years of carefully watching myself!
Don't sweat the bad month! Summertime is for relaxing and having fun... Ice cream is always a great summer indulgence. You'll make your goal, I KNOW it! It'll actually probably be easier now that you've had a "carb-up" session.
You are looking GREAT!! (wish I were near ya, I could probably use some of your hand-me-downs, LOL)
Keep up the great work!!
